Arts A.C.C.E.S.S. Concert Series - Summer 2008

 

Fiesta de Baile - Festival of Dance

Saturday, June 7 at 7:30 p.m. - Cohn Adult Learning Center in Richland Park

Dances of the Americas - Argentine Tango, Salsa, Latin Ballroom, Flamenco, Folkloric & Native American
featuring teaching and performing artists involved in our Latin Dance Festival, including Rick and Lynda Wilson of Tango Salon, Atlanta; Music City Salsa; Chayito Champion of Los Flamencos de San Antonio and Calo Flamenco, Phoenix; Larry Yazzie, Jessup Yazzie and Arlan Whitebreast of Native Pride Dancers

This exciting program is made possible with support from the Tennessee Arts Commission, Metro-Nashville Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Tickets for this exciting concert are $15 for adults; $10 for students,seniors and advance purchase

 

The Voice of Flamenco - The Words of Lorca

Sunday, June 8 at 7:30 p.m. at West Nashville United Methodist Church - 4710 Charlotte Avenue

A night of flamenco song, music and poetry honoring the works of Spain's beloved poet, Garcia Lorca, featuring flamenco singer, Chayito Champion; flamenco guitarist John Lawrence and poet Thandiwe Shiphrah of Logos Rhythm

This exciting program is made possible with support from the Tennessee Arts Commission, Metro Nashville Arts Commission, and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Tickets for this unique concert are $15 for adults; $10 for students, seniors and advance purchase


July 11 - 13 - Famoudou Konate - Workshops with the Master Djembefola from Guinea


Friday - 6 - 10 p.m. at the Global Education Center

Saturday - 1 - 5 p.m. at the Global Education Center

Sunday - 1 - 5 p.m. at the Global Education Center

$100 per workshop (adults); $80 per workshop (youth)

$10-children 12 & under

$15-students, seniors & advance purchase

$20 - nonmember adults

Center members get $5 off each ticket

$40 for entire season

Transportation is provided for select concerts via bus service from Global Education Center and other sites to the Father Ryan campus.

This is our twelfth year of presenting a culturally unique concert series to the Middle Tennessee community. Thanks to all of you who have supported us throughout the years by attending our many multicultural arts programs!!!
